The A3F is the largest short film event in the southwest. Based in Phoenix, the A3F attracts teams from Arizona, California, Texas and Colorado. The A3F holds its annual 48 Hour Film Challenge on the 3rd weekend of February. Sixty-four teams competed in 2006 with more than 500 people attending the sold-out public screenings. In its inaugural year in 2005, 28 teams participated in the A3F.
