Devil Worshippers and Animal Killers
"The guide helps law enforcement agencies understand those religions so they’ll allow them to practice undisturbed. Sacrificing a cat, a dog, a baby? Worshipping dark forces? No problem! The police should just let them practice their religions without interference no matter how sick, twisted, perverted, and criminal they are; no matter how many children are drawn in or forced into such practices." from

Wow! I had to re-read this post several times to make sure that I was actually seeing the words. The accusations that we draw in youth, worship "dark forces", court Satan's favor, sacrifice living creatures... WOAH! STOP RIGHT THERE. Jackasses.
I understand and appreciate that every religion has its fanatical fruitcakes. I also understand that religion is a personal topic and very "close to home", making it often a heated and sensitive issue, but is it appropriate, acceptable, or even expected in most religious currents to lie about, slander, trash, mock, and unjustly accuse other religions and their adherents of indecencies against life?
Maybe its okay because this is about Wicca? We are less than "real" or "evil" anyway, right? But what if this same post was about Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc? Would it still be acceptable? The Buddhist isn't accused of these things. The Muslim isn't either. Not the Hindu, the Latter Day Saints, nor the Jew. Let's not demonstrate with fact and file the truth of their own histories and practices. Murderous religious ego-maniacs doing "God's Will". Ugggh.
Sick, twisted, perverted, and criminal? That is what I am? Because I am a Wiccan I am thus in the service of "Satan"? These are the things I do? I kill animals and children, seduce youth into rebellion and witchcraft, and force children to do the same?
What if the tables were turned:
'Christians are lying two-faced back stabbers who openly observe necromancy, practice ritual cannibalism, and communicate with the dead. They force children to pray to a hateful god bent on torturing their souls unless they comply by killing and harassing other people in his name. They willingly target and slander, attack, and even murder anyone who does not submit to their beliefs.
They start religious wars with anyone who is not a christian, hate Muslims, Jews, the LDS, Pagans, Aethists, and Muslims. They secretly bath in the blood of slaughtered babies (lambs will suffice) around christmas time to "talk to god". They accept and in some cases approve of political or social deviance if "god told them to", incest, and "holy murder". Blah blah blah....'
They are idiots. I can't deny that. I am not sorry to say it, but I am sorry that it is true. Wiccans aren't the only target. We can't forget gays, anyone racially different from the majority of any given congregation, any eastern religious adherent, or really anyone who does not look or think like them.
My beef however is with their accusations against Wiccans specifically. Its not new, it won't go away, and there is little I can do about it. However, I know someone on "the other side" will read this at some point, so let me make this very clear: Christians don't have a clue, about Wicca, let alone their own origins. We don't, wouldn't, haven't, and could never... regardless of what they or you might think or have been told to the contrary. Check your own evils before looking for ours.
If someone says that it is some great conspiracy, that we keep the truth secret, they are dumbasses. If you want to know what Wicca is or what we do, find out the same way almost every modern Wiccan does - read a book, talk to a Wiccan, attend an open circle. We are not an organized religion with a secret order of occult adepts guiding our courses. Shoot, most Wiccans today simply read a book or two, found the philosophy and practice comforting and fulfilling and went from there, never having or will have observed, spoke with, or acted in cahoots with any other Wiccans. Strange, but true.
Religion and morality aside for a moment. Don't be an ass. Learn, think for yourself, evaluate the facts, then decide.
How so many seemingly half-intelligent people can buy the lies that folks such as posted the quoted content spew is beyond me. Most of the time I sit in silent wonder over their arrogance and idiocy. I just can't fathom how they make it through life without being beaten to death or eaten by something.
Please folks, if you are reading this, and are not a Wiccan, just consider what it would be like - at least for you - if someone made the same claims about your own religion or beliefs. If you can do that even for one moment, I will be satisfied with this rant.
Blessed Be.
