Hello again!

W. Lyon Martin, a children's author and illustrator and a friend of mine, turned me on to Illustration Friday, a website and concept whereon and wherein, every Friday, a word to illustrate is posted. She looked at a few of my sketches and suggested that I start submitting art to this site. !!!

Trying something new like this is something I "should" be doing, 'cause I follow the Adventure Tradition of Wicca. It feels very daring to me, for I don't actually consider myself an artist, because I can't draw the way I think Real Artists can. On the other hand, I ~am~ a published artist, in that I have made a few hand-drawn illustrations for my books. Lyon tells me this counts!

So, per the instructions on the Illustration Friday website, I'll every now and then be posting an illustration here, to a "static page" -- thanks, Lyon, for showing me what that means -- so I can then link it to the art site.

Per another of Lyon's wise suggestions, I'm using this as a carrot: I don't get to do "the art thing" unless I get my other work done first. "Other work" ranges from my column to PanGaia to book proposals, from letters to inmates for Mother Earth Ministries to actual drafts of books I'm working on ... and of course, blogging. ;-)

That's all for now -- just wanted to let you know why there might be pages of inexplicable drawings appearing on this blog every week or sometimes. Ta!
